Controller
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to join our growing Company. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities and administrative activities of the company and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This is a key leadership role that requires strong financial acumen and expertise in various accounting principles.
- Manage all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and budgeting
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to senior management
- Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to provide necessary documentation and support
- Ensure all compliance reports are submitted timely and accurately (FDA, TTB, HR, etc.)
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years with a manufacturing company
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and technical accounting standards
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and account analysis
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Food Scientist/quality control
- Conduct quality-control checks throughout the batching and filling process to ensure food products are within customer and legal specifications
- Create Batch Samples for new and existing products
- Document and interpret results from food safety lab equipment
- Report on quality results for the purpose of communicating trends, tracing problems, or suggesting improvements to management and customers
- Maintain and improve an effective food safety, quality, and regulatory culture by completing appropriate facility and laboratory training and proficiency monitoring, as well as collaborate across organizational departments to identify opportunities to improve our food safety program
- Develop and execute SOP’s and maintain compliance
- Create microbiology testing program and support training of other laboratory staff
- Perform daily and monthly quality laboratory instrument checks
- Maintain a clean laboratory environment
- Organize and maintain documentation, including but not limited to data entry and filing in both physical and digital formats
- Create and implement a program for PCR testing to screen for spoilage in food ingredients and final products

Key Account Manager
Opportunity
Build a custom B2B beverage business with the Midwest’s leading co-packer!
Red Boot Beverage is a 6-year-old co-manufacturer with $25 million in annual sales. We are looking for a Key Account Manager to cultivate our small group of high-value clients and efficiently produce popular brands of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. If you love selling custom-manufactured products and developing long-term client relationships, come work with our small, nimble team of passionate makers.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with B2B customers, marketing & development, and production teams to build strong collaborative relationships and ensure jobs are completed to customer specifications on a timely basis
- Report to the VP of Marketing & Development and work closely with Client Success Manager
- Provide turnkey management of a small number of current small- to medium-sized accounts to ensure profitable retention and growth; nurture and build new clients as they come onboard
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Swiftly respond to and resolve key issues
- Participate in weekly production meetings
- Engage with suppliers for spec information related to client projects
- Coordinate with Materials Manager to ensure accuracy of Bill of Materials for production
- Communicate with client regarding details and timing of materials they may provide; acknowledge receipt and status of materials on hand
- Monitor production runs and document/flag issues; follow through with client
- Work with Client Success Manager to develop agendas for client visits; participate or lead plant tours
- Monitor and track finished goods inventory; work with clients to manage inventory levels
- Lead forecasting work with clients
Skills and qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience selling custom manufactured products, ideally food and beverage
- Relationship-driven approach to selling, developing, and servicing beverage customers
- Strong business acumen – self-starter with good time management and self-discipline
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills
- Flexible, adaptable, growth mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (must have MS Excel experience)
- Beverage, Food Manufacturing or Brewing experience preferred but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business

- 160,000 square-foot facility dedicated to the bottling, canning and formulation of carbonated and non-carbonated beverages
- 88-person team of experts in sourcing, formulation, blending, packing and packaging, warehousing and logistics

Work requirements
- Onsite position at the production facility in Des Moines, IA
- Travel estimated up to 20%

Forklift operator with CDL
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator, with a CDL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, driving truck to other building, ensuring proper handling of products, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
Duties
- Operate fork truck in a safe and efficient manner
- Drive truck between buildings (1/4 mile apart)
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
- Move products to storage areas using the appropriate equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records of products handled
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized
- Assist in other tasks within the warehouse as needed
Qualifications
- CDL license (Required)
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator
- Familiarity with standard warehouse management systems
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques
- Proficient in loading and unloading procedures
- Understanding of basic math for inventory purposes
- Experience working in a distribution center is a plus
